Speculative Cartographies Exhibition Design
- exhibition design, environmental graphic design - vinyl, print, digital, plexiglass Speculative Cartographies is an art project dedicated to uncovering knowledge of the Holocaust archived in the landscape. The artworks are accompanied by reflection on the very idea – and the possibility – of a monument. Speculative cartographies extract material traces of violence, while simultaneously revealing the connection between human conflicts and transformations of the natural environment. The environmental graphic design is done in mediums such as vinyl, plexiglass, and paper. The design emphasizes fostering a foresty, natural, and archival atmosphere. An archival file folder inspires the form and colour of the artwork statement. Neon-green, a colour that people would not usually associate with Holocaust. The choice the thematic colour and font reveal a combined sense of modernness and history that expresses the on-going commemoration of Holocaust in 21st century.
