Picasso Memorial Coin Design
- packaging design, graphic design - print, laser cut This memorial coin is designed for Pablo Picasso, not only for people to memorize him as a phenomenal painter but also as a peace and political activist. Picasso was a political being, constantly aware of the heartbreaking, passionate, or delightful things that happen in the world, shaping himself completely in their image. His unique approach to the public really impresses me. On both the coin and coin holder, I use some of his symbolic peace and war art as a reference and recreate them to respond to the theme. Using characters from Picasso’s famous war art, The Bombing of Guernica helps reinforce the theme.
